Artist Lai Tiew Seong (黎潮湘)
b. China, 1948
Description Capturing the quiet essence of village life, a traditional dwelling emerges through a dense veil of trees. Rendered with powerful, dark ink strokes for the foreground foliage and softer washes for the distant structures, the painting evokes a sense of contemplative serenity. Subtle figures on the right hint at human presence, weaving a narrative of lives lived harmoniously within nature's embracing shadow.

Lai Tiew Seong, a Chinese artist based in Malaysia. Initially self-taught, he honed his ink painting skills through studies in Hong Kong. He is actively involved in the Malaysian art scene, serving as Vice President of the Caotangmen Seal Carving, Calligraphy and Painting Society, and is a member of various prominent art associations, including the Malaysian Artists and Ink Painting Associations.
