Description "Nyonya Porcelain" is a piece that honors tradition through the meticulous rendering of a porcelain kamcheng (a covered jar central) to Peranakan heritage. The jar, inscribed with the characters for Fortune, Prosperity, and Longevity (福祿壽), stands out against a richly textured, teal-coloured background. The artist embeds the piece with a human touch by incorporating actual porcelain fragments into the canvas itself.

Ng Foo Cheong, a renowned Malaysian artist born in 1965, is known for his explorations of tradition, culture, and history. Fearlessly experimenting with various media, he often combines traditional materials like porcelain with contemporary elements to create visually striking works.
