Description
Khalil Ibrahim's painting depicts a tranquil river scene dominated by lush green mountains. The composition balances the vibrant greens with the cool, light blueish-green hues of the water. Several trees with textured brown trunks and verdant foliage line the riverbank, adding depth and a touch of life to the serene landscape.
Khalil Ibrahim's artistic journey began with a prestigious education, earning a National Diploma of Design in Fine Arts from London's St. Martin's School of Art and Design in 1964, followed by postgraduate studies in 1965. This foundation launched him into a full-time artistic career in 1966. Not only did he co-found the Malaysian Watercolour Society, but he also achieved international recognition. His artistic voice was heard through solo exhibitions across Southeast Asia and Europe, solidifying his reputation. The lasting impact of his work is evident in the collections of esteemed institutions like the National Museum in Singapore, Fukuoka Museum of Art in Japan, New South Wales Museum of Art in Sydney, Royal National Art Gallery of Jordan, National Art Gallery Malaysia, and Bank Negara Malaysia Museum & Art Gallery.
