Description
The painting portrays a bustling scene of a lively market with colourful stalls and vendors bustling with activity. Buildings of houses with their whitewashed walls and terracotta-tiled roofs dominates the composition in the background. The painting invites the viewer to explore the intricate details of the architectural forms and imagine the stories held within these walls.

Yap Chin Hoe, a talented artist, showcased his skills at an early age. Prior to graduating from the Malaysian Institute of Art in 1991, he had already gained recognition through his work, which earned him awards and featured in the prestigious 1990's Young Contemporary Artists Exhibition in Kuala Lumpur. With a double major in oil painting and printmaking, Yap brings a unique twist to traditional Western still-life art by incorporating Oriental porcelain and creatures as his central theme.
