Description Eng Tay's "Bliss II" gracefully transitions into his signature themes of family, music, and love, portraying a serene scene with three stylized figures. Two adults play a harp and violin, while a child seemingly captivated by the music, all rendered with rounded forms and warm colors. This painting beautifully conveys domestic harmony, joy, and the simple contentment of shared artistic expression, complemented by a basket of red fruit that enhances the atmosphere of warmth.

Eng Tay, born in 1947 in Kedah, Malaysia, moved to New York City in 1968 to study graphic design, painting, and printmaking at the Arts Student League, School of Visual Arts, and Pratt Graphics Center. He worked in the graphic arts field until 1978, when he embarked on painting trips to South America and Indonesia, which inspired his artistic subject matter.
